Itinerary

This 11-day Tanzania safari combines wildlife conservation, cultural immersion, dramatic landscapes, and world-class game viewing. From the remote wilderness of Mkomazi National Park to the flamingo-lined shores of Lake Natron, and from the iconic Ngorongoro Crater to the endless plains of Serengeti National Park, this safari is designed for travelers seeking adventure, exclusivity, and authentic African experiences.

Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport or Arusha Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide. After a scenic transfer to Karatu, settle into Baghayo Suites Lodge for dinner and overnight. Located near the Ngorongoro Highlands, this peaceful lodge provides the perfect introduction to Tanzania’s safari circuit. Relax and prepare for the extraordinary wildlife encounters ahead.

After an early breakfast, descend into the world-famous Ngorongoro Crater, often called Africa’s “Garden of Eden.” This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers one of the highest wildlife densities in Africa. Expect to see lions, elephants, buffalo, rhinos, and leopards in a single day.

Enjoy a scenic picnic lunch at 13:00 inside the crater while surrounded by breathtaking landscapes. Continue your game drive until around 17:00 before ascending the crater walls and returning to Baghayo Suites Lodge for dinner and overnight. This day offers exceptional opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing.

Today you travel to Lake Eyasi, a remote and culturally rich destination located south of Ngorongoro. Lake Eyasi is home to the Hadzabe and Datoga communities, offering visitors authentic cultural interaction.

After exploring the lake region and surrounding landscapes, enjoy lunch at a picnic site at 13:00. Later, head to Lake Eyasi Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge overlooks the lake and provides stunning sunset views across the Rift Valley escarpment.

Depart Lake Eyasi and journey toward Ndutu through the Maswa region, known for its scenic beauty and seasonal wildlife concentrations. En route, enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by open savannah. Upon arrival, check in at Ndutu Safari Lodge for dinner and overnight. The Ndutu area is particularly famous during the Great Migration calving season, attracting predators such as lions and cheetahs.

Today you continue to Central Serengeti, the wildlife heart of the ecosystem. The Seronera Valley is renowned for year-round game viewing and strong predator activity. Enjoy lunch at 13:00 before proceeding with an afternoon game drive until evening. Later, transfer to Yellow Barbet Lodge for dinner and overnight, offering comfort and relaxation after an exciting safari day.

Depending on wildlife movements and season, explore either the eastern or western Serengeti. Both regions offer spectacular scenery, fewer crowds, and abundant wildlife including giraffes, elephants, hyenas, and big cats. After a picnic lunch at 13:00, continue your game drive until evening before returning to Yellow Barbet Lodgefor dinner and overnight.

Journey north through Serengeti’s remote landscapes toward Lake Natron. Enjoy a scenic en-route game drive across the northern plains before descending toward the dramatic Rift Valley terrain. Arrive at Maasai Giraffe Eco Boma Lodge for dinner and overnight. This eco-lodge offers an authentic Maasai cultural atmosphere combined with stunning volcanic surroundings.

Spend the morning exploring Lake Natron, famous for its alkaline waters and flamingo breeding grounds. Visit the fascinating ancient hominid footprints preserved in volcanic ash near the lake. After lunch, head to the breathtaking Angaresero Waterfalls for swimming and relaxation in a natural oasis. In the evening, return to Maasai Giraffe Eco Boma Lodge for dinner and overnight under the dramatic silhouette of Oldoinyo Lengai volcano.

Depart Lake Natron and travel via Longido, passing the outskirts of Mount Meru and heading toward the West Kilimanjaro conservation area. The drive offers spectacular views of open plains and Maasai pastoral lands. Arrive at Simba Farm Lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge is known for its peaceful setting and panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro.

Enjoy a relaxed morning with panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro or participate in a guided day trek on its lower slopes. This experience allows you to explore forest trails, observe unique flora and fauna, and experience Africa’s highest mountain up close. Lunch and dinner are served at Simba Farm Lodge, where you will spend another comfortable overnight stay.

On your final day, visit Serval Wildlife Sanctuary, where you can observe and interact with rescued wildlife in a controlled environment.
